From what I’ve read it wasn’t Aerosofts decision to add this but Microsoft insisted on it as part of their terms to make a physical copy available. I’m not saying it’s the right way to do things but the information is there if people read before adding it to their basket. Unfortunately for the people buying the DVD boxed version and then complaining about having to leave DVD1 in the drive in order to run the software - they appreantly don’t read the system requirements tab on Aerosofts site either which clearly states, highlighted in red:
